Of the 103 districts taken into account for the ranking, 64 districts were in the favorites category while 39 districts were in the performing artists category in the composite score and district ranking.
The leading category includes states with a score between 65-99 on the index while performers are states with a score between 50 and 64. However, no district was present in the performing category (score 100). and the aspirant category with a score of 0-49.
The index measures the performance of the districts of the eight states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura on the Sustainable Development Goals and their corresponding targets and ranks districts on the same basis.
The index is based on NITI Aayog’s SDG India Index, which monitors progress on SDGs at national and state or union territory levels and compares performance and ranking on SDGs to foster competition between districts .
