Code Ninjas Center will focus on interactive learning through game creation, robotics and more
HACIENDA HEIGHTS, California, December 7, 2021 // PRNewswire // – Code Ninjas is set to open its new location at 17142 Colima Rd. Unit D on December 8th. Code Ninjas will serve the region by offering computer coding lessons for children. The lessons will allow children to solve problems as they create video games and collaborate with other children their age. This new learning center will create an environment where children and teens can learn about technology while having fun.
The Hacienda Heights location is owned and operated by local entrepreneurs David and Irene Yu. David has 25 years of computer networking experience while Irene spent 15 years in the pharmaceutical industry before becoming a stay-at-home mom. David and Irene tried several methods of teaching their children to code, including online programs and coding tutors. It was only with Code Ninjas that they found the right person; fun and engaging classes that teach essential skills. It was because of their positive personal experience that the Yus decided to bring Code Ninjas to Hacienda Heights.
“Coding is an invaluable language for children to learn and Code Ninjas allows children to hone their skills in an interactive and social environment,” says David Yu. “Technology has found its way into almost every job and we want to give give kids the skills they need to be successful. The best part of the Code Ninjas program is that kids have so much fun learning new subjects. “
Hacienda Heights kids (ages 5-14) can look forward to the new Code Ninjas Center where they can learn to code in a fun, safe and social environment. At Code Ninjas, the game is celebrated and STEM is cool. Everything in their centers – or dojos – is built around fun, which keeps kids coming back. The center also delivers the outcomes parents crave, as their kids learn the coding and problem-solving skills they’ll need in the changing job market.
“At Code Ninjas, children develop social skills in addition to learning how to solve problems,” says Irene Yu. “Code Ninjas combines screen time and social interaction in a way that is productive and beneficial to children. children. Making education attractive and enjoyable for them is what will really help them be successful in school and in their future careers. “
Code Ninjas offers a strong, game-based curriculum consisting of nine belts, just like martial arts. The lessons are self-paced, but not self-taught; children receive immediate help and encouragement from Code Senseis (teachers) and other students as they move from white belt to black belt. The program keeps kids motivated with small wins along the way and “Belt-Up” celebrations where they are given color-coded bracelets to mark their step up. By the time a child completes the program, they will publish their own app, available to the public in an app store.
Code Ninjas also offers a variety of opportunities for kids to get involved, including a flexible weekday schedule, Parents Night Out camps and weekend events.
