Walworth County Visitors Bureau Executive Director Tim Malenock talks about his enthusiasm for his new job.

Walworth County Visitors Bureau executive director Tim Malenock died Thursday, October 14, advice from the Walworth County Visitors Bureau confirmed on Monday.

“His energy and experience will be missed by the county tourism industry. Tim left a mark on the industry during his short stay in Walworth County, ”the Walworth County Visitors Bureau’s office said in a statement.

No information has yet been released on his funeral arrangements.

Prior to being hired as Executive Director of the Visitors Bureau in March of this year, Malenock worked as Director of Visitor Services and Group Sales for the Milwaukee Public Museum.

He has also held tourism promotion positions at the Milwaukee Art Museum and the John G. Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.

“This is a great loss to our region and our state,” said CEO and President of Visit Lake Geneva, Stephanie Klett, after hearing about the loss. Visit Lake Geneva is not directly affiliated with the departmental tourist office, but is a tourism partner.

“I was fortunate enough to work with Tim as the Walworth County Tourism Co-Promoter. He was so happy to be here, and with his professional background, Walworth County was very lucky to have him, ”said Klett.

“The first thing you notice about Tim is his great booming theatrical voice, but his style and personality is very laid back. He’s easy to like because he doesn’t need or want credit. . He enjoys promoting people, attractions and events. Anything positive … Most of all, Tim was kind and soulful. He will be sorely missed. “
